Fantastic holiday.. This was our 1st holiday in 8 years and we are so glad we chose the Vrissiana to stay in. The hotel was very modern and clean. The room we had was average with a reasonable view of the sea, air conditioning could have been better but ok, the noise wasn't anything to grumble about, infact it was quite good to get some music in when the patio window was open. The food was pretty average with lunch probably being the best as is made to order. The pool side was always busy but relaxing all the same, word of warning if you have a weak heart avoid the pool as is freezing. Evening entertainment was limited but was the same most places, but there was ample to do outside the hotel. Big up for the Welsh Elvis!! The staff were very courteous and good for a giggle. The c-view bar staff especially Milos, Mark, Larissa, Magda and Andreas. Magda keep on smiling :-). We met some great people Katie & Tony, Willie & Lesley, Jo & Ricky ( the tequilla virgins ) thanks for all the hints and tips on where to go and stuff. You all helped make our holiday great along with the Tequilla!!! We will be back again for our wedding aniversarry in September 2010. See you all then.
Would definetaly recommend The Vrissiana for your stay in Protaras.

just to let you know that the resort of protaras virtually shuts down on the last weekend of Oct..ie 25/10....99%of the bars shut down and whole town becomes like a ghost town.Even the street lights are turned off !...Only a couple of hotels remain open so dont book this resort after mid Oct as there is nothing to do and nowhere to go.Best to go to paphos as its much more lively and the bars are open all year round.
Hope this helps

Hello there,
We stayed with you in June '08 and am currently looking at booking our next visit to you in June '09... Our only reservation now is on the tour operators site when we booked in last June, your hotel was listed as 'Adult Friendly' rather than 'family friendly' which to be honest was one of the biggest reasons we booked it, the prospect of no screaming kids was bliss...
However through the same tour operator your now labelled as 'family friendly'.... Is the the case now??

Hi again.
Cant wait to start our holiday at the Vrissiana Beach Hotel on 26/10/08 for 1 week.
Most of the write ups look fab and we have seen the hotel for ourselves back in May when we stayed at the Sunshine beach hotel next door.
We have booked the all inclusive package and would like to know if this can be used at the adjoining hotel for meals etc.
Can you tell me if the resort closes this year on Sat 25th OCT or Sat 1st NOV.I am told all the bars locally shut down on the last day of the season and was curious to know what day that was ?
Looking forward to seeing you all and hopefully enjoying the warm sunshine and sea.

It was amazing and we still cannot believe how wonderful it was. We will definatley be coming back to this hotel year after year, we have been to cyprus many times before but never enjoyed it as much as this. Bliss bar is also fantastic. hello to charlotte kieran and laura if you read this, missing you all already. got some fab photos of wedding venue at hotel if anyone thinking of gettin married ther we had our wedding in the pergola outside lookin over the beach (what we would maybe call a gazebo but it is a wooden shaded permenent structure ) then we had our day reception in the restaurant inside there, spent the rest of day round the pool then also had our evening reception there. it really was magical!!! we booked the wedding seperate to the hotel booking through a wedding team called tiara cyprus weddings. com they were also fantastic, Denise the wedding co-ordinator was with us all day to ensure everything went smoothly. thanks again Denise x

We went to the Vrissiana on the 13th, the hotel was gorgeous, nice decor, rooms gorgeous nice verander to drink cocktails looking out on to the sea. But im affraid i have to disagree with the manager with regards to the customer care it gives to guests staying at the hotel. I gave my order to a the barman by the pool. He started to serve me until a local came up with snacks, he stopped serving me and served her as she was a paying customer, the second example of bad customer care was one lunch time. We sat at the table near the pool, it was at the weekend and we were told to move, when i asked why the waiter told me they were too busy and the area had too many people. I refused to move as we paid a lot to stay there. In the end after waiting about 15mins for someone to take our order we got our food. Its ashame that this wasnt restricted to hotel guests only as i would be shouting how good this hotel was. Staff look moody, and dont greet you, we felt bad asking for drinks or food as we felt akward as if we shouldnt be there as priority was aimed towards paying guests. It was a bit of a let down due to that aspect.
Another thing, you can use the next door hotels swimming pool and loungers however you cant use the all inclusive for snacks or drinks. Other places we have been from same brand of hotel you can use the facilities, but couldnt here, if you were using the pool you had to walk all the way to the other side to get a drink. Nice but wont be going again

Hi polis, just to say we upgraded to the Vrissiana from some awful apartments in Ayia Napa on the 8th August and stayed in room 011 and we had a fantastic time, the reception staff were friendly and cheerful at all times and regarding the locals at the weekends, well i thought it all added to the atmosphere, we struck up a fantastic friendship with Charlotte the Thomas cook rep and Kieran and Laura the animation team, the food was lovely and the hotel is very chic and well deserves it's 4* rating.I did travel with my sister and son, but am already pestering my husband to take me there again next year.Anyone with any concerns, take it from me, it's a lovely hotel in a lovely position, enjoy .

Hello Everyone
My name is Polis and i am the Manager of the hotel.
I would like to express our thanks and graditude to our guests who have visited our hotel and to our future guests who are interested in staying with us in the future.
I would also like to thank you all for your nice comments as well as for your constructive criticism which is invaluable to our effort to constantly improve our service and standards.
To answer some of your queries, unfortunately even though the Vrissiana hotel is part of A.Tsokkos hotels the all inclusive package is only valid at the hotel in which guests are residents.
The hotel provides pool towels with a small refundable deposit per towel and of course there are hair drying facilities in each room and there is also an ironing facility in our luggage room by the reception.
Regarding weekends in early August, it is indeed a much more lively atmosphere then any other time of the year, this is due to a number of reasons, first being that the Vrissiana enjoys a prime location on perhaps the most popular golden sand beach in Cyprus which attracts great numbers of holiday makers, local and overseas. The time period between the 1st and the 15th of August is the holiday season for the Cypriot people.
What is most important and we feel that our guests should know is that as a public hotel on a public beach (there are no private beaches in Cyprus) we are forbidden by law to refuse entry to anyone entering the hotel.
I will however have to disagree with the guests that stated that we give priority over our hotel guests to outside visitors. A number of measures are taken to ensure that hotel guests receive priority on the weekends like reserving sun loungers for hotel guests and specific members of staff are instructed to tend to our hotel guests needs. Beyond that, there are plans to construct 2 more bar service points around the pool area for better and faster service for our hotel guests.
Once again thank you all
Polis Polydefkis

Hi I am going to the Vrissiana next week and would like to know the situation of certain things usually associated with staying in a hotel. Do you provide pool towels or should I bring my own? Also do the rooms provide hairdryers and irons? Obviously it would make my case a little lighter as baggage allowance is so strict nowadays!

We upgraded to the Vrissiana from some awful apartments in Ayia Napa, and we had a fantastic time, the hotel is very chic, with wonderful decor and comfortable rooms, the food was lovely, our only concern, was, as other people have mentioned, the locals taking over at the weekend, it did get very busy around the bar and pool area and they did ,i am afraid to say seem to get priority when being served as someone pointed out to me" why serve the all inclusives first when we can take money from the locals ?" this as you can imagine did not go down too well with people who had paid 2, 3 or 4 thousand pounds to stay there and many holiday makers were complaing to the management, but come monday all was quiet again. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone, but not during early August if you fancy peace and quiet.

Vrissiana Beach Hotel is the most beautiful and chic hotel in Protaras and Ayia Napa. Recently rennovated with really good materials and good views.
Service was very friendly and food was delicious.
It is very easy to see the Chef (Costas) who is from a local village and he can explain you anything you want to know about the food. The burgers there are fantastic and home made. Costas has a secret formula..
About the pool area is very nice and clean during the weekdays. During the weekend it gets more busy with locals and it makes the hotel busier and more lively. The management team booked many sunbeds only for hotel guests only and sometimes the manager can arrange you to use the facilities of Constantinos the Great 5* (a sister hotel).
I totally disagree with people moaning about the weekends. As i was told by the manager (mr. Polis) there is not such a law in Cyprus to forbid non-residents entering the pool area.
My personal opinion is that it makes the hotel busier and also we enjoyed the Cypriot way of Entertaintment where Cypriots dance on the tables!
The only downside is the Ghetto Bar by the street that plays loud music till 2 am... That was the only downside from my holidays in Cyprus and in Vrissiana Beach Hotel.
I am returning to V. on the 15th of October and i would like to get the same room (505) if is possible.
Best Regards from Leicester

TBNG, i really think you have been terribly picky about some things.
There was a shop in the sister hotel.
The stairs are well located in the pool because in fairness its not a massive pool. " Paper Reciepts? " come on now.
This is an All Inclusive based hotel, its not intersted in half price cocktails, look what im saying is.. its a 4 star, give it a break and also, busy during the weekends, yes this is probably true, it should be better managed but really, are they going to say no to business?

Just back from Vrissiana last week (8th time in 10 years)
Excellent upgrade to the hotel, but points of feedback for further improvement -
1-The swimming pool needs steps at the "sea end" of the pool, since the only
entry/exit point is at one end of the pool.
2-Room deposit boxes are free in all international hotels, so why do you need
to pay for them at the Vrissiana since there is no admin/reception personnel
activity; as was the case when the safe boxes were behind the reception area
before the refurbishment.
3-The doors leading from reception to the stairs are very heavy and hard to
open; particularly for the older folks.
4-The pool bar closed at 5:30pm, but if you introduced either "happy hour"
or "half-price cocktails" at this time, you would generate some additional
revenue by keeping the bar open.
5-The pool bar and the poolside restaurant still use "paper" receipts to sign
for drinks and food etc. This could be automated by either swipe cards or
infra-red hand held terminals by your staff. Most other restaurants in Protaras
have this facility.
6-It would be good to have a sandwich/drinks/sweets/fruit shop somewhere
on your premises for folks who wish to buy and take back to their rooms to
relax and eat, rather than having to go to local supermarkets to buy this.
7-The hammocks at the sea-end side of the pool is a nice feature to have; along
with the various styles of seats, loungers etc, but during my 2 week visit, I only
saw them getting used 2-3 times, and at the same time they only acted as a barrier
for folks trying to get in and out of the pool & bar area.
8-Can the hotel not work out a discount deal with the water sports operators on
the beach next to the hotel (Steffanos) they are quite expensive, but if Vrissiana
got a 10% customer discount, I'm sure it would generate more revenue to these
folks.
9-On Saturdays & Sundays, there were a lot of non-residents using the hotel and
pool facilities, and this should be closer managed by the hotel staff so that residents
are not affected. On both days, the availability of sun loungers was reduced to the
point where residents couldn't get near the pool, and we were also being asked for
proof of residency to avoid having to pay for sun loungers on the grass area.
10-Plans & dates for the new hotel next door should be made available in your hotel
and on the website to advise of any noise of interference caused by the new construction.
Will be back next year again.

We were very impressed with this hotel presentation and location wise as the rooms were very comfortable and we were right on the beach was was lovely. We were happy that we were all inclusive as Cyprus is not cheap by any means and we were spoilt for choice with the cocktails which we thoroughly enjoyed and the lunch menu also was very good. However the hotel did not live up to our expectations as our bed sheets were not changed for the first week of our stay so I had to request that this be done to reception, this then continued to happen for the rest of our time there which I find unacceptable as I've always found that sheets are changed every other day. We also tried to borrow towels for the beach but there were none available. The buffet meals in the evening were really not that good and on some evenings barely tolerable. I was expecting to be able to visit the 2 a la carte restaurants that we were told by First Choice were part of the facility however these did not exist? The entertainment in the evening was always very poor so for the all inclusive guests it was a challenge to enjoy our time when the atmosphere was so bad as there was hardly anyone around which wasn't a surprise given the circumstances. Also at the weekends, expect a Greek Rave as all the locals drive down to use the hotel's facilites, which seems to be the only hotel in the area allowing this. Therefore expect sunbeds to be scarce and the pool bar and lunch area to be very overcrowded. The DJ at the pool bar plays very loud greek music so if you're trying to relax, you will not be able to, bit of a joke really!! However the bar staff were brilliant who made our hotel very enjoyable. The underlying problem is the HOTEL MANAGEMENT who have not got this hotel up to the standards expected. I also didn't pay all this money to be told on our final day we had to eat our lunch at dead on 12 as this is when the all inclusive ran out and drinks were no longer included. I found this very unfair when we were not vacating the hotel until 9:30pm that evening. This was our 14th day which we had booked and paid for therefore why was this the case? Anyway we will not be returning to the Vrissiana any time soon as we were expecting our holiday to be perfect for the money that we paid out and we felt let down that there seemed to be so many faults. For the prices charged this hotel should have it right by now.

Dear Mr Economou,
First of congratulations for the great renovation of Vrissiana. It is by far the more sophisticated and design hotel in Protaras.
I was in Vrissiana from 10th July till 24th. We stayed for 2 weeks and we really enjoyed it. Rooms were cleaned daily and the staff was very friendly. A few people like Savoula, Benjamin and Mariana at the reception, Milos and Adrian at Lobby bar, and also Mr Costas the assistant manager are a few that gave us excellent service.
I am very pleased and happy that i see hotels rennovated and keep high standards.
I totally disagree with the comments of P May about the Public Lido and Disco .After all is holiday time and we can have some fun and enjoy ourselves. Vrissiana is very relaxing in the weekdays and is nice to have some greek entertainment with dancing on the tables and people having fun.
Mr Demetris Continue what you do with your renovation plans. It is nice to have young ideas and implement them.
How can i get the loyalty card of Tsokkos Hotels so to book my holidays through your website?

Hi, Its Tracy and Adam we came to speak to you a week ago while we were on holiday in Protaras to talk to you about having our wedding at your hotel next May. We were really pleased with the hotel, So we have managed to book a registrar for May 29th at 12.30. we have booked a 2 weeks stay at the hotel too from May the 24th and we have chosen a full sea view room and i was just wondering if those rooms are bigger than the side sea view rooms that you showed us.
We can not wait for next May to go back, we look forward to seeing you again.
Bye from Tracy And Adam.

20 years ago we had our honeymoon here and were very satisfied with the hotel. Unfortuantly, this time we were very disappointed with our stay, especially Saturday and Sunday when the pool area changes to become a PUBLIC LIDO AND DISCO. we come on holiday to relax. If we want music we go out at night. When we asked to have the noise turned down it was turned up. Not what you expect from a 4 star hotel.
Protaras has become very much like Ayia Napa and not the quiet resort it use to be. Wont be returning.
We, as were other guests, were suprised to find the room had a mirror on the ceiling! The food is help yourself - not what you could call a dining experiance and your in and out in 40mins. The waitresses don't give you time to put your cutlery down before the plate is taken away.
I should like to know why the public are encouraged even though you place signs saying "for use of hotel guests only" but this is only written in english. The problem is with the Cypriots, so perhaps greek may also be required, but hey they wouldn't take any notice.

Dear Demetris Economou 15/06/2008 - 29/06/2008
We Returned from our hols in Protaras for the 14th time (2nd at the Vrissiana). Paid loads extra (hundreds £££ ) for a full front sea view and we got room 404 which has no front facing window only side facing the Constantinos the great, so this can not be a FRONT FACING SEA VIEW ROOM
Apart from this we would have given an 11/10 but sadly we will have to hold back the rating for now, as this was such a dissapointment watch this space for outcome.
We will be returning to Parallimni in Aug/Sept 08' and hope this has been sorted by then.
Kind regards Mark and tracey.

Hi James , Hi rainy Scotland,
Check our website www.tsokkos.com
There you can find promotional rates and offers.
My opinion is to avoid August because is hot and very busy.
Try September or October.
This year we hope that Vrissiana will stay open all year round.

Just returned from Vrisianna last night, for anyone in doubt of going. Dont be. This hotel is fantastic, All inclusive is a must however as drinks etc are very dear as of the Euro problem that Cyrpus seems to have, but yes. Best holiday of my life thanks to Milos and Adrian at the bar at night
" Raise up! "
I urged people to go to this hotel if you enjoy modern furnish, classy style and big measures in your drinks! If Demetris Economou see's this comment, I never got a chance to speak to you, but well done. However, the entertainment could do with a little more Advertising for the night time show and maybe actually a stage, I also would like to say that one of your singers should never be allowed to play in the hotel ever again! I think his name was " Johny ", he was a terrible drunk who doesnt shut up. Anyway thanks for a great holiday, Im sure I'll probably be booking again soon!

Got back last night after a week there all inclusive and what can I say....
The hotel is fantastic, been home less than 12 hours and am already looking at booking it next year.
The staff are all very good, Valentino and Natasa at the poolside bar were excellent and very friendly, hope they're both behind that bar next year so they can serve me more Amstell.
Hospitality, food, service, cleanliness and presentation all fantastic, not sure why it hasn't got a 5 star rating.
By far my best holiday yet, see you again and again and again and again

Stayed at the Vrissiana Hotel in August and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. The rooms were of a good standard though the child's bed could have been a proper bed rather than a small camp bed. It would not be suitable for a teenager. (No shower curtain but I am sure these will be fitted in the future.) The breakfast and evening meals were excellent. All staff were friendly and helpful. We are planning to go back to Cyprus is a couple of years time and will definately look into staying at the Vrissiana Hotel again.

This hotel has been recently refurbished to a very high standard, rooms are modern and well equipped, including flat screen tv. The hotel seems to aim itself to couple's as opposed to family's.
The hotel is also very popular for weddings as it is right on the see front. Staff are friendly and helpful - poolside restaurant offers great choice.

First time to Cyprus and a good hotel to start off with.
Staff were friendly and food was what we expected (good and plenty of choice). Rooms clean and comfortable and daily maid service was completed almost as soon as you left the room.
Side sea views were really of a patch of dusty land at side of the hotel and at right angles to the sea. This land is a car park for locals and beach visitors in high season.
Not much going on in the evenings as the entertainment was to a very basic standard and limited.
So to summarise - If you want a relaxing holiday without booming music and with good service superb beach location (except the room view) good food and very friendly Cypriot eastern European staff, then at the price this hotel is definitely one to go for.
Oh and if you want to sample some Scuba then there are regular opportunities during the week to sample in the pool. I even took the challenge in the sea (expensive but worth it) and yes I saw Nemo.

Our 7th time to Protaras, 5th time at Vrissiana, with its superb beach side location. My lady and I are 'beach bums' at heart so it suits us down to the ground.
Just nicely reopened late July after extensive refurbishment, much needed as the Hotel was looking very tired. That said the original staff more than compensated, always remembering us from previous visits and making us feel very welcome....sad to see them gone.
The refit is very impressive, across every area of the Hotel and has lifted the standard to 4star plus. We were told something around 3 million pounds had been invested and knowing what it was like before we can see how much work must have been completed in the intervening 9months. The pool area is fantastic and the surrounding bar and shaded seating areas are very special, well thought through and luxurious.
As always the devil is in the detail and some work in our room (minor paint and wallpapering poor quality) let them down, however, that is more their issue than ours. Also some teething troubles as may be expected as the new staff find their way around but overall the staff were very helpful, although for some clearly English was very much their second/third language. They were all attentive to our needs and couldn't help us enough to make our stay an enjoyable one.
The Dining Room was very well appointed although there wasn't a terrific choice for the evening meal but the quality wasn't bad .....breakfast was very good and they do say start the day well (breakfast like a king). There were no organised activities through the day if you’re looking for this but I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
Not sure but we did hear the Hotel was to be Adult only next year which I can understand given the fixtures and fittings (inside and out) were essentially white. There were quite a few children there in our first week but they were all very well behaved and no great problem.
Not sure the All Inclusive deal will be worthwhile given there are plenty of restaurants in Protaras and not enough going on at this time to keep you in the Hotel all the time.
We also heard they were hoping for an all year round availability, again cannot see it working given Protaras closes from November through to April/May.
Some of the bars nearby are a little boisterous if you are looking for an early night but it suits us....in fact we can recommend Bells Bar just a short walk away.
We will be going back next September and have been spoilt by the Vrissiana....just depends where they pitch their prices.

The hotel has been completely refurbished and is very nice and clean. Possibly one of the better ones now in Protaras. The bedrooms are very light and bright, with flat screen TV, tea and coffee facilities. The outside area is lovely, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, there is no need to get up early to get a bed. Outside bar and snack area also very clean. The food in the hotel was also very good, the breakfasts were excellent and the snacks at the snack bar also excellent. The buffet meals were adequate.
There were the usually whingers who moan about absolutely everything, don't really know why they bother to go on holiday. There was no real entertainment in the hotel, but it had only been open for 6 weeks. Next year I think the entertainment will be better. At the moment it is not really child friendly, but I prefer this now.
We will definitely be going back to this hotel, next year if all goes to plan. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

Just returned from the Vrissiana Beach Hotel (05 Sept - 12 Sept). We had originally booked the Constantinos the Great Beach Hotel (next door) on HB basis but on our arrival here we were told by the manager we were being upgraded to the Vrissiana on AI. We were told there was booking problems, but others were in the same boat and we all assumed it was to get guests into the recenlty refurbished Vrissiana.
On our arrival the Vrissiana staff were freiendly and helpful and the reception/lobby areas looked worthy of a 5* hotel, the views from the 'C-View' bar are great.
Our room was ideal, it was brand new and still smelled brand new (no shower curtain though). The finish was contempory and the added bonus of a LCD TV was a plus.
The Hotels outside areas are equally as good. The pool is clean and a good size, there are plenty of sunloungers both by the pool and overlooking the beach and the bar is excellent. We had food at the poolside bar most days as we were AI and the menu was good for what we wanted (salads, toasties, burgers...).
The food at night was ok, but we were never 'blown away' it always seemed a bit repetitive. We chose to eat out a couple of nights as there is some good restaurants in Protaras itself.
Breakfast was ok; fruit, yogourts, cereals and cooked breakfasts. What else do you need?
All in all we had a good stay at the Vrissian Beach and I think we would definately go back, but maybe as HB.
